Pneumococcal disease continues to be an important public health problem, particularly in underserved minority adults, due to greater illness risk and persistent racial disparities in pneumococcal vaccination rates. This presentation will examine the scope of these issues and explore the cost-effectiveness of potential US vaccination policies to improve pneumococcal disease prevention in this group.
