Air medical transport for injured patients is a costly resource with inherent risks but may benefit certain populations, especially in rural America. We currently have limited understanding of how to best allocate this resource within trauma systems. Our lab has developed approaches to improve air medical transport from a patient-level triage and system-level organization perspective.
