There is a high priority need for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) treatments that are both effective and more acceptable to patients. Cannabidiol (CBD) and other cannabinoids have attracted considerable attention in recent years based on their potential to treat a myriad of physical and psychiatric conditions. This presentation will review current first-line treatments for PTSD, the relationship between PTSD and the endocannabinoid system, and an ongoing study investigating the combination of CBD and a behavioral, exposure-based therapy for PTSD.
