Dr. Enzinger will discuss the role of opioids for managing cancer pain and access challenges caused by the opioid misuse crisis. She will review research findings pertaining to recent trends in access to prescription opioids, racial and ethnic disparities in access, and in use of opioid risk mitigation strategies among cancer patients near the end-of-life. She will also discuss preliminary work in developing mobile health interventions to support opioid pain management in palliative care populations.
