We are pleased to announce that Sonya Borrero, MD, MS has been appointed as Chief Medical & Scientific Advisor for the US Department of Health and Human Services within the Office of Population Affairs. This is an initial one-year term with the possibility of a longer tenure. During this time, Dr. Borrero will be on sabbatical from the University of Pittsburgh.

As a Chief Medical & Scientific Advisor, Dr. Borrero will aid in strengthening the Office of Population Affairs' ongoing efforts to address equitable contraceptive access and care. It is a great honor for Dr. Borrero to represent our nation's population and the Division. We wish Dr. Borrero all the best in this appointment and are looking forward to witnessing all the wonderful things she will accomplish with the US Department of Health and Human Services.
