Dr. Bachrach is a research investigator at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, and a clinical psychologist. She will dsicuss findings from Aim 1 of her VA-funded Career Development Award (K2HX003087), including perspectives on alcohol-related care gleaned from semi-structured interviews with 22 Veterans (45.5% female, 41% Black) and 10 primary care providers of vaying clinical discipline. Major areas of focus include barriers and facilitators to providing evidence-based alcohol-related care within the primary care setting and identifying areas for improvement. The presenter will also discuss how qualitative findings were used to inform an implementation science intervention to improve care within one VA primary care clinic.
