Mental health risk among Black men in college is elevated due to overexposure to numerous racial, gender, and college stressors; however, Black men are less likely to utilize traditional, face-to-face mental health services. Digital technologies and social media present a unique opportunity to promote mental health among this undeserved population. This talk will provide an overview of work geared towards advancing mental health equity for Black men and provide an example of a mixed method investigation aimed at identifying their mental health needs, preferences, and acceptability in using social media for stress and mental health symptom management. Future directions will also be discussed.
