The COVID-19 pandemic presented a challenge for front-line health care providers and clinical investigators, with a novel pathogen, uncertain evidence, and a rapidly changing landscape of new evidence and policy changes. In this presentation Dr. Barbash will examine changes in COVID-19 treatment among hospitalized patients over the first year of the pandemic, using the electronic health records of a nationally-representative patient sample from Optum data.

Sacubitril/Valsartan has been shown to lower risks of death and hospitalization compared to standard of care in patients with systolic heart failure. This talk will take a deeper look into medication adherence of sacubitril/valsartan and present results on how levels of adherence impacts outcomes.
